The Astrology Podcast Monthly Giveaway for May 2016

The Astrology Podcast Monthly Giveaway for May 2016

As I announced in a recent blog post, I’m starting a new monthly giveaway this month for patrons of the show who donate through our page on Patreon on the $5 and $10 tiers, and our first drawing will be at the end of May during the next forecast episode.

I just got together all of the prizes for this month, and I wanted to announce what they are:

Three Digital Prizes for Patrons on the $5 Tier

There will be three digital prizes that will be given away to three lucky patrons who pledge their support on the $5 tier:

1. Demetra George Lecture on Integrating Traditional and Modern Methods

The first prize is an MP3 of a lecture from Demetra George’s website titled Integrating Traditional and Modern Methods. Here is the lecture description:

Learn how to integrate classical mythological archetypes and ancient techniques with modern psychological interpretation. Traditional criteria of planetary condition provide clear guidelines of a planet’s capacity to manifest the matters it represents in the natal chart, thus pointing to the ease or difficulty the individual has with a certain area of life. How can the modern astrologer incorporate this information with the archetypal approach that aims for a healing of the psyche?

This lecture provides a nice preview of a retreat on Hellenistic astrology that Demetra is hosting this summer in Portland where she will focus on a set of specific guidelines for determining planetary condition, which helps the astrologer to understand which factors incline a planet’s expression toward its best outcome for the individual, versus which factors undermine the planet’s agenda.

Listeners of the podcast can get $100 off the retreat registration price if they use the coupon code PODCAST when they sign up. You can find out more information about the retreat on Demetra’s website.

2. New Ben Dykes Lecture on Aversion and Decimation

The second prize for the $5 tier is a new lecture that Ben Dykes recently released titled “Two Special Configurations: Aversion and Decimation.” Here is the lecture description:

The lecture describes two important and common sign-based configurations: aversion and decimation. Aversion is the dark partner of aspects, and occurs when two signs are not related by aspect, so that planets in them cannot see each other, and when a planet in a sign cannot see its own sign. Aversion also helps explain the negative meanings of four traditional houses: the twelfth, second, sixth, and eighth. If you use aspects, you must pay attention to aversion! Decimation occurs when one planet is in the tenth sign from another, and so has a dominating and stressful relationship to the other planet.

This lecture is also available for sale on Ben’s website at BenDykes.com.

3. Kelly Surtees eBook on Saturn in Sagittarius

The third prize is an ebook by Kelly Surtees titled Saturn in Sagittarius: Focus Your Fire. This awesome little ebook features:

A 60+ page eBook chock full of tips and insights about Saturn in Sagittarius. Find out how your sign and chart may be influenced by this longer 2 year trend.

For more information about this ebook see Kelly’s website at KellysAstrology.com.

One Grand Prize for Patrons on the $10 Tier

A Full Pass to the Breaking Down the Borders Online Astrology Conference

For patrons of the show that are on the $10 tier we have a special prize that will be raffled off at the end of this month, which is a full pass to the online astrology conference that is occurring in November called Breaking Down the Borders 4.

Breaking Down the Borders 4

This conference is being organized by the folks over at the International Academy of Astrology, and it will take place from November 18–20, 2016.

This three day conference will feature 48 speakers from around the world, with each giving lectures through an innovative live webinar format.

You can find out more information about the conference at www.AstrologyConference.org.

The organizers of the conference have graciously donated a full 12 lecture conference package valued at $360 to the podcast, and one lucky patron will win the package at the end of the month.

How to Enter the Giveaway

All you have to do to enter the giveaway is become a patron of the Astrology podcast through our page on Patreon at the $5 or $10 tier. From now on the monthly raffle will be one of the perks for patrons on the higher tiers, in addition to the other bonuses we already offer there.

Towards the end of the month we will do a drawing and then announce the winners of this month’s giveaway on the next forecast episode.

If you are already a patron of the show on one of those tiers then you are already set, and you will be entered in to the drawing at the end of the month. If you are a patron of the show on one of the lower tiers then all you have to do to enter is upgrade to the $5 or $10 tier.

The only restriction for patrons is that your max monthly pledge has to be set at either the same as or more than the amount equivalent to what funding four episodes would cost in a month on that tier (i.e. $20 on the $5 tier or $40 on the $10 tier). If you have the max pledge set to less than this then you would not be qualified to enter in to the drawing, although there is still time to adjust that if you would like to be entered in for a chance to win.

Part of the purpose of the new monthly raffle is to raise money to improve the audio quality of the show by sending out high quality microphones to guests prior to interviewing them. If you enjoy the show and listen to it frequently then please consider pledging your support through our page on Patreon to help with the production of future episodes of the podcast.

If you have any questions or comments please email Chris at astrologue@gmail.com.

Thanks to all of our donors for sponsoring this month’s giveaway!

  • Thanks for adding this little incentive, Chris! I really enjoy your podcasts; they get me through my morning commute. I’ve been intending on subscribing because I really get so much value from your efforts.. Btw,, the audio quality of your podcasts have always been pretty good. However, I have noticed a difference on the Merriman and subsequent shows. Take care.

    • Glad to hear that you are enjoying the show! Thanks for becoming a patron! I’m really happy to hear that you’ve noticed the difference in the audio quality in most recent episodes. Once we reach that next funding milestone pretty soon I’m hoping to make it so that every episode sounds that good, and I may be hiring out the editing in order to get a good sound engineer working on each one. So, thanks for helping to make that happen!
