Reincarnation and Astrology, with Steven Forrest

Reincarnation and Astrology

Episode 194 features an interview with Steven Forrest about the concept of reincarnation, and the question of whether astrology can be used to find information about past lives.

Steven is one of the founders of a popular approach to astrology in modern times called Evolutionary Astrology, which holds karma and reincarnation as key principles.

In 2012 he published the book Yesterday’s Sky: Astrology and Reincarnation, in which he talks about using the birth chart to identify themes in the present life that have their origins in previous lives the native has lived.

During the course of the episode we talk about Steven’s background in astrology, his work with the nodes, and debates in the astrological community about reincarnation.

  • Very Nice. Finally, someone calls out the punishing God/”tit for tat” explanation of karma for what it is – simplistic and hurtful. I would be very interested in hearing what Mr. Forrest has to say about the karmic implication of Saturn – (current action and consequence) and of Pluto as well. Also, the idea that the heart remembers but the intellect does not is most interesting. This is very close to the field of Epigenetics which states that trauma can be passed on in DNA. This also pulls in the meaning of the 4th House as well. Legacy of the family in H4 (Epigenetics or not) and legacy of the Soul in the South Node? How to reconcile the 2? This conversation could go on for much longer! Thank you – great interview.

  • Whenever I get to listen to Steven Forrest I consider it a real treat and I prepare myself to nestle in, relax and enjoy. This has been a particularly enjoyable and refreshing interview that illuminated the history of evolutionary astrology and in context with the history of astrology in general. Excellent!

  • I loved this, deep, clear, respectful conversation between two masters, what more could an astro-addict want?
My sincerest condolences to Steven Forrest about his beloved nephew.
I was agreeing with him out loud about not learning astrology, I felt like that when I first discovered it, that I was remembering it not learning it. I have heard this from other astrologers too. The Vedic interview and then this in quick succession and the three hour marathon before that, thanks!

  • What a superb treat listening to a conversation between a serious scholar of astrological history and someone who’s made astrological history, Steven Forrest. Very grateful for the chance to listen in.

  • An artful interview of a master, by a master. Steven is, of course, incredibly compelling. But Chris, your interviewing techniques cannot be minimized here. This was an intelligent, insightful and respectful discussion that invites future dialogues.

  • Wow, respect to you both. Your Insightful time has taken a place in the universal astrological history. Recorded as an example of how to share this beautiful art. Jusr loved listening to this dialogue. Thank you.
